Could Gate Dance Theatre (云门舞集) is a modern dance group from Taiwan. Its founder, Lin Hwai-Min (林怀民), attracted attention from the international dance scene for his creativity. His performances mix elements of Eastern and Western culture.White Serpent Tale (白蛇传), for example, is from an ancient Chinese story. However, Lin added moves from ballet and Tai Chi (太极导引) to the performance. That is why his works appeal to people around the globe.
