Anita Roddick opened The Body Shop (美体小铺) in 1976 to sell cosmetics. The shop became popular because everything it sells uses natural ingredients. Though it brought her wealth, Roddick had other goals as well. She used her money and her company to support some important causes.

In 1990, Roddick started The Body Shop Foundation to help both the environment and people in poor countries. She wanted to make sure the workers producing her ingredients get paid fairly. Though Roddick died in 2007, her company continues to stand for what she believed in.
