In Taiwan in June, it gets hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk. But right now, in the south ___1___ , it’s mid-winter. And Queenstown, New Zealand, is the best place to ___2___ for winter fun in June. It’s the home of the world famous Queenstown Winterfest.

Located on New Zealand’s South Island between Lake Wakatipu and a spectacular mountain range named the Remarkables, Queenstown is the self-proclaimed adventure capital of the world. But in June and July, it’s Winterfest that really ___3___ the crowds. First ___4___ in 1975, Winterfest is a ten-day festival of winter activities and adrenaline-pumping adventure sports.

There’s also the cowpat-throwing competition, where people see how far they can throw frozen cow manure.
