Is there a better finale to your Valentine’s Day than a candlelit dinner? You can finish off with a chocolate fondue – a pot of melted chocolate. To eat, you put a piece of fruit or pastry onto a stick then dip it in the fondue. You can try dipping cookies or even ice cream into the pot. Whatever you put in comes out hot, sticky, and mouth-watering.

Fondues were invented in Switzerland, where the Swiss originally used melted cheese. They also came up with some fondue etiquette. The rules say it’s impolite to “double dip,” which means to put something into the pot a second time. You must also be careful not to drop anything into the pot. If the man does it, he must pay for the meal. But if the woman does it, she has to kiss everyone at the table!
