People in Belgium are probably looking forward to sending more letters this year. That’s because the Belgian post office, Bpost, released a series of five different stamps that taste and smell like chocolate. Belgian chocolate makers are renowned for being some of the best in the world, and the stamps are meant to honor their work. The stamps feature photos of five different kinds of chocolate: chocolate spread, chocolate sprinkles, chocolate bars, rough chocolate, and bonbons, a typical Belgian treat of candy covered in chocolate.

The post office printed more than 500,000 of the sweet stamps that also smell of dark chocolate, which has a deep, rich fragrance. Researchers looked at scratch-and-sniff technology when making the stamps to incorporate the smell of chocolate. Some stamp collectors feel that chocolate stamps are a gimmick, yet Bpost employees said they feel the stamps pay homage to one of Belgium’s best-known national treasures－chocolate. Others said they will continue to just send emails instead of buying stamps. Fans of tasty candy and confections will likely drool over the chocolate-infused postage though.
