Our school is making us choose an area of academic interest. We have to choose either a social science major or a science and engineering major. My parents are pushing me to become a doctor. I swear they can be so nosy sometimes. They dream that I will become a doctor, but I’m not so sure. I’ll make plenty of money, I guess, when I graduate at the age of 30 probably. But I don’t want to poke around inside someone’s stomach or, gulp, cut them OPEN! Yuck.
学校叫我们要选组：我们必须选择要念社会组或是自然组。我爸妈极力怂恿我当医生。我发誓，他们有时候真的很爱管闲事。他们梦想着我将来能成为一位医生，但我不是很确定。我猜想我将会赚很多钱，不过要等到当我30岁左右毕业之后。但我实在不想在某人的肚子里到处戳洞，或是，（吸一口气），将他们开肠剖肚。好恶！
Honestly, I’ve always dreamed of one day being an archaeologist, like Indiana Jones. It would be so cool to have a whip and find treasure in ancient cities. I’m probably the only one at school who seriously wants to hang out in jungles. I know all the popular girls wouldn’t want to dig around in the dirt, and mess up their hair, looking for lost civilizations. But Aiden thinks it’s a really cool idea. Before I make any big decisions, I should probably talk to the school guidance counselors.

The Future Path in Life 「系」选人生未来
There comes a time when we have to make a decision about what course of study to pursue in school. In high school, during the second semester of tenth grade, students have to choose an area of academic interest, either in social sciences or science and engineering. For someone who is undecided, this might be a little intimidating.
求学阶段会面临必须决定要修哪些课程的时候。在高一下学期时，学生必须选择他们的组别：社会组或是自然组。对拿不定主意的学生来说，这可能会有点令人胆怯。
If you haven’t yet determined a major, think about what you love to do. There is a chance that one of your interests can be turned into an actual career. Browse the Internet for information about careers as well to see what is in demand. Lastly, make sure to discuss it with counselors, family, and friends for more advice.
