Tony: Hey Frank, are you busy? I’d like to ask you for your advice.

Frank: Sure. What can I help you with?

Tony: Our business partners from Canada are coming over next week. I want to take them out to dinner one evening. I really want everything to go smoothly.

Frank: Yes, it’s important to make a good impression.

Tony: I’d like to take them to a restaurant where they can try some of our local food. Where do you suggest I take them?

Frank: Do you know whether any of them are vegetarian?

Tony: I’m not sure.

Frank: In that case, it’s best to take them somewhere that has lots of dishes on the menu. That way, any vegetarians or people with other dietary preferences will have plenty to choose from.

Tony: Good idea. How about Golden Palace? I’ve been there before, and I thought the food there really hit the spot.

Frank: That place is too noisy. Why don’t you try Green Dragon? It’s a good restaurant and it’s famous for its local food.

Tony: That sounds great. What do you recommend ordering?

Frank: I recommend trying the roasted chicken. It’s delicious. They also have great vegetarian dishes, such as stewed tofu.

Tony: That’s perfect. Thanks for your help, Frank. I’ll go ahead and book a table.

Choosing the Right Restaurant

Organizing a business meal can be difficult, because the meal might affect your negotiation with your client. To leave a good impression, there are several things you have to take into account before choosing a restaurant. Firstly, make sure you know what your guests like and don’t like to eat, or whether they have any special requirements. It’s also a good idea to find out what they’ve eaten recently, so you can give them some variety. If you are treating a foreign customer, one of the best things you can do is to find a restaurant that presents your local food and culture.

After you select a suitable restaurant, be sure to make a reservation in advance. It would be embarrassing to arrive at a restaurant that has no table for you and your client. If you haven’t been to the restaurant before, getting a hold of the menu will help you learn more about the food. By following these steps, it’s easy to satisfy your clients and build a good relationship with them.
