ABC's Trevor Ault leading us off tonight from Boulder, Colorado.
Tonight, horrific new video showing the moment a man in Boulder, Colorado, unleashed a fiery attack on a peaceful Jewish demonstration.
The suspect seen in an orange vest walking toward the crowd, throwing a lit Molotov cocktail, setting fire to innocent people who had been calling attention to the hostages still being held in Gaza.
Witnesses saying the suspect yelled "Free Palestine" and appeared to light himself on fire.
That suspect, 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman, allegedly telling investigators he disguised himself as a gardener, even buying flowers to get as close as possible to the group.
Later seen shirtless, yelling at the crowd, before being taken into custody at the scene.
shirtless [ˈʃɝtləs] adj. 赤裸上身的
Water!
Water, watter!
At least 12 people injured, including an 88-year-old woman who survived the Holocaust.
Tonight, we've learned she's now out of the hospital, recovering.
She's an incredibly resilient person who is horrified.
horrified [ˈhɔrəfaɪd] addj. 感到恐惧的
Officials say the suspect planned the attack for a year.
Waiting until after his daughter graduated high school last Thursday to carry it out.
And tonight, ABC News has learned he appeared to record pro-terror messages just hours before.
Court documents reveal Soliman brought 18 Molotov cocktails to the park, throwing two of them into the crowd.
Authorities suggest he might have had second thoughts, allegedly telling investigators he got scared and had never hurt anyone before.
Officials say he showed no remorse, allegedly admitting he had to do it, he should do it, and he would not forgive himself if he did not do it.
remorse [rɪˋmɔrs] n. 痛悔;自责
He said that he had previously tried to purchase a firearm, but resorted to the Molotov cocktails when he could not purchase a gun, because he was not a legal citizen.
firearm [ˋfaɪr͵ɑrm] n. 火器,枪支
Federal officials say Soliman is an Egyptian national, in the country illegally after overstaying his tourist visa.
Tonight, his wife and five children taken into custody by ICE, now being processed for expedited deportation.
We're also investigating to what extent his family knew about this horrific attack.
Rabbi Mark Solloway tells us six members of his congregation were injured in this attack.
rabbi [ˋræbaɪ] n. 犹太教祭司
congregation [͵kɑŋgrɪˋgeʃən] n.(宗教的)集会;(教堂的)会众
And the entire community is shaken.
We're talking literally a Jew who was targeted and burned and lying on the ground in flames.
And the image of that for our people is just -- just something that we'll never forget, that this could happen on the streets of Boulder, Colorado, in 2025.
David, the suspect is being held on $10 million bond.
bond[bɑnd]n. 保证金;保释金
He's due back in court on Thursday.
And we've learned one of the victims is still in the hospital in serious condition.
Several others have been released, but many of them are looking at months of recovery for their burns.
David.

This is the highest I've ever seen it.
Tornado sirens sounding at Kaufman Stadium in Kansas City.
Our affiliate, KMBC, live on the air, forced to take shelter.
We may want to think about having nonessential personnel take their tornado shelters in here right now.
nonessential [͵nɑnəˋsɛnʃəl] adj. 非本质的;不重要的
This ambulance apparently swerving to avoid a tree in Raytown, Missouri, going off the road.
swerve [swɝv] vi. 突然转向;转弯
Now, this powerful system is pushing East.
It is moving quickly.
Let's get right to Ginger tonight to time this out.
Hi, Ginger.
Hi, David.
Two severe thunderstorm watches just went up on the North and South side of this.
Abilene is included in Texas, up to Davenport.
This powerful front also has what we call training thunderstorms.
That's why we saw that flash flood emergency in Wichita.
They just run over the same area.
You'll see that from Missouri back through Kansas and parts of Oklahoma tonight.
Now, there are two other pockets of flooding, Las Vegas and Miami.
Miami had big-time flooding yesterday.
So, this is the second day in a row.
Some places could end up with more than eight inchesover the two days.
If we time it out, the storms will reach Chicago by early tomorrow, drive time, that could make for a mess.
Down to St. Louis.
And then the smoke, we put on the same map.
It pulls on down through parts of Wisconsin, even Missouri by tomorrow.
And hazy skies out ahead of it here in the East, David.
David: All right, Ginger,we'll see you first thing in the morning on "Good Morning America."
Thanks.
Elon Musk calls Trump's signature bill a "disgusting abomination"
Tonight, Elon Musk taking on President Trump's budget bill, less than one week after leaving his official role with the Trump administration.
He's now calling the spending in the President's bill disgusting.
And this evening, amid the tariffs, prices rising in the U.S.
Tonight here, the items at Walmart, and how much they've gone up.
Mary Bruce with the higher prices and Elon Musk's harsh criticism.
Tonight, just days after leaving the Trump administration, Elon Musk ripping into the bill at the heart of President Trump's agenda.
rip into 猛烈批評(某人/某事)
"I'm sorry, but I just can't stand it anymore," Musk posted on X.
"This massive, outrageous, pork-filled congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination."
pork [pork] n.【美】【口】政治恩惠(指政府用以笼络民心的拨款等)
abomination [ə͵bɑməˋneʃən] n. 令人厌恶的事情
It comes just hours of Trump declared the bill a big winner, but Musk insisting the bill will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion, and burden American citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt.
crushingly [ˋkrʌʃɪŋlɪ] adv. 让人受不了地;过分地
The President already knows where Elon Musk stood on this bill, it doesn't change the President's opinion.
This is one big beautiful bill and he's sticking to it.
Musk, the world's richest man, now threatening Republican lawmakers who backed the bill, saying, "Shame on those who voted for it.
You know you did wrong.
You know it."
Adding, "In November next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people."
It's very disappointing.
With all due respect, my friend Elon is terribly wrong about the one big beautiful bill.
with all due respect(用於正式場合禮貌地表示異議)恕我直言
The President, eager to get the bill across the finish line, as we see prices rising amid the trade war he launched.
At Walmart, the nation's largest retailer, the cost of some toys way up.
way [we] adv. very; extremely
A Baby Born doll that cost $34.97 in March now costs $49.97.
Up roughly 43%.
Last month, an Etch A Sketch cost $14.97. Now, it's $24.99, a nearly 67% increase.
Etch A Sketch 蚀刻素描
Walmart's CEO had sparked Trump's anger by warning the President's tariffs would lead to higher prices.
Today, Walmart telling us the new price hikes are influenced by a variety of factors.
And David, amid these rising prices, we've been asking the White House, but no trade deals have been finalized yet.
And the administration is now trying to up the pressure, sending a letter to our trading partners, urging them to put forth their best offers by tomorrow.
David. Mary Bruce at the White House.Mary, thank you.
Judge denies Karen Read defense team's call for a mistrial
Now, to Boston tonight, an explosive day in the Karen Read murder trial.
In the death of her Boston police officer boyfriend.
Tonight here, the defense witness who testified this could have been a dog, but then, the moment during cross examination when Karen Read's team suddenly demanded a mistrial.
And then late today, Karen Read was asked if she'll testify.
Here's Matt Gutman.
At the murder retrial of Karen Read today, the defense building its alternate theory that John O'Keefe was beaten by party-goers at this house, mauled by a dog, and left to die in a blizzard.
retrial [riˋtraɪəl] n. 复审
maul [mɔl] v. 抓傷; 撕咬
Those wounds were inflicted as a result of a dog attack.
Critical to proving these injuries to O'Keefe's arm were not caused by Read's SUV, but by a dog, the testimony of forensic pathologist Dr. Marie Russell.
Prosecutors spending most of the day trying to shred her credibility.
shred [ʃrɛd] v. 撕碎
Recently, you said teeth, and now you're saying you're not sure?
No, I'm saying I believe that those -- those marks are from teeth, but I'm not 100% certain.
Pointing out no traces of dog DNA were found on O'Keefe.
When a dog bites a sweater, would you expect that it would leave DNA?
Yes.
And it wasn't dog DNA, but plastic fragments from a car's taillight that were found imbedded in O'Keefe's clothing.
taillight [ˋtel͵laɪt] n.(车辆的)后灯,尾灯
When a dog bites a sweater, you would not expect it would leave little fragments of taillight shards in clothes, would you?
Correct.
What followed was a fiery fight over dog DNA.
He intentionally brought up DNA.
The defense moves strongly, vigorously, for a mistrial with prejudice.
move [muv] v. 提议;请求
But the judge denying the defense's motion for a mistrial.
motion [ˋmoʃən] n.(会议上的)动议,提议
And on her way out of court tonight, Karen Read was asked if she might testify.
I'm ambivalent, and by ambivalent, I could get onboard with either one.
ambivalent [æmˋbɪvələnt] adj.(心情)矛盾的;模棱两可的,含糊不定的
I feel strongly either way.
And David, today's testimony was a pivotal moment in this trial, but a reminder, the defense does not have to prove its alternate theory about a dog bite.
All it has to do is sow enough reasonable doubt in the minds of jurors about the prosecution case.
David.
Matt Gutman thank you.
