I'm very disappointed because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here, better than you people.
He knew everything about it.
He had no problem with it.
All of a sudden he had a problem and he only developed the problem when he found out that we're going to have to cut the EV mandate.
mandate [ˋmændet] n. 命令,指令
Musk left the administration just five days ago.
He had a black eye.
Trump revealing today, he offered Musk makeup.
"You saw a man who was very happy when he stood behind the oval desk.
And even with the black guy, I said, do you want a little makeup?
We'll get you a little makeup."
But he said, "No, I don't think so, which is interesting.
And very nice.
He wants to be who he is."
Musk spent more than $288 million to help elect Trump.
The president says he could have won without him.

Take a look tonight.
This is Chicago's famous skyline, nearly hidden in the smokey air.
Hazy skies, hundreds of miles south and Lexington, Kentucky as well.

Chief meteorologist Lee Goldberg of our New York station, W-A-V-C, back with us tonight.

Let's time the smoke.
It clears out of the Great Lakes tomorrow.
It's still a hazy day in the Northeast, but that'll be replaced by showers and thunderstorms to begin the weekend.
Speaking of showers and thunderstorms, we have tornado watches, southern plain into the Southwest.
We've had tornado reports near the New Mexico, Texas line, an active tornado warning west of Lubbock.
It could have some strong tornadoes there.
This is the beginning of a multi-day severe threat across the South.
It's Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee Valley, into the weekend, eventually Atlanta and the Carolinas.
David.
Lee Gilbert with us tonight.
Thanks, as always .Lee.
Boulder, Colorado firebombing suspect formally charged with 118 criminal counts
Next tonight, the suspect in that attack in Boulder, Colorado in court just moments ago now formerly charged with 118 counts on the state level, including multiple counts of attempted murder.
Accused of setting Americans on fire authoritiessay attacking Jewish demonstrators who were trying to raise awareness for the hostages still being held by Hamas.

Russia responds to drone attack with fierce aerial assault across Ukraine
There's breaking news right now out of Ukraine, Martha Raddatz, our team at a bunker right now.
Air raid alerts going off as we came on tonight.
All of this after Ukraine's drone attack deep inside Russia.
And then the moment inside the the office today.
President Trump, who campaigned promising he would end the war in Ukraine on day one.
Today, saying, quote, "Sometimes you're better off letting them fight for a while."
Martha Raddatz reporting in from Kiev amid these air raid alerts going off moment to go.
"David, we just heard an air raid alert, an urgent alert telling us to come down to the shelter that's where we are now with many others from our hotel.
The air raid defenses are said to be working in Kiev, but explosions have been heard, but we are safe down here.
Tonight, a ferocious Russian assault following Ukraine's coordinated drone strikes deep inside Russia.
Russia now blasting residential high-rises in Ukraine's second-largest city of Kharkiv and destroying this government building in Kherson.
The barrage leaving more than 40 people dead or wounded across Ukraine.
And Ukraine is now bracing for even more what could be a much larger Russian attack at any moment.
A response to that stunning Ukrainian drone operation, drones lifting out of containers of top trucks and flying to their targets, destroying at least 10 Russian warplanes, including nuclear-capable bombers worth billions.
And in a remarkable scene in the Oval Office today, President Trump, after campaigning, he could end the war in Ukraine on day one, suggesting it might be better to let both sides fight for a while, even though it was Russia which invaded Ukraine.
"Sometimes you see two young children fighting like crazy.
They hate each other and they're fighting in a park.
And you try and pull them apart.
They don't want to be pulled.
Sometimes you better off letting them fight for a while, and then pulling them apart.
But German Chancellor Merz making it clear Germany is on the side of Ukraine.
The chancellor's saying there is a difference between what Ukraine is doing and what Russia is doing.
We get satellite pictures of the warfield, and you don't even like to look at them, right?
It's terrible.
It's a really bodys, arms, heads, legs all over the place you've never seen anything like ... it's so ridiculous.
And this is only by Russian weapons against Ukraine, this had never happened with Ukraine weapons against Russia.
Never.
Ukraine is only targeting military targets.
Not civilians, not private, not energy infrastructure.
So this is the difference and that's the reason why we are trying to do more on Russia, how to stop this war.
And David, given what Donald Trump said today, given the missiles flying around Ukraine tonight, peace seems a long way away.
David.
All right, Martha, we're glad you and the crew are down to that bunker tonight.
Martha Raddatz, thank you.

Smoke filling the 737 cabin, passengers going down one of the plain slides.
Some seem standing helplessly on the wing because the other slide malfunctioned.
At least a dozen were hurt in preliminary findings.
The NTSB says the right engine blade was fractured and a number of engine parts had been incorrectly installed.
Now this may have happened just days prior or it may have been a problem for months if not years will wait and see what the NTSB says, but really human error is going to be the factor here.
Meanwhile, David, American Airlines tells us it is cooperating with the NTSB in this investigation.
David.
Gio Benitez is back on this report to you.
Gio, thank you.
Luigi Mangione's alleged diary notes reveal motive for murder, prosecutors say
We turn next tonight to the alleged CEO killer, Luigi Mangione, and a look at his handwritten diary.
Tonight his notes and what they might reveal.
Authorities say Mangione writing, quote, "The target is insurance.
It checks every box” and prosecutors now pointing to three other initials written in that diary.
Could there have been a different target at one point? Here's Aaron Katersky.
Tonight prosecutors say in the months before Luigi Mangione allegedly gun down UnitedHealth Care chief Brian Thompson outside a Manhattan hotel, the suspect revealed a motive in this diary.
In handwritten pages they say Mangione wrote about rebelling against the deadly greed-fueled health insurance cartel, saying I don't feel any doubt about whether it's right, justified.

greed [grid] n. 貪心;貪婪

In a new filing, detailing the evidence against Mangione, prosecutors pointed to bullets found at the scene, etched with the words "deny, delay, depose," arguing it shows an intent to violently broadcast a social and political message to the public at large.

depose [dɪˋpoz] v. 置放
"It was intended to evoke terror."
And tonight we're learning how Thompson was allegedly stalked.
The night before the shooting, prosecutors say Mangione is seen on surveillance video appearing to talk at a cell phone as his target walked past him on the street.
The new court filing also shows Mangione may have considered a different target with the initials KMD, but decided it would be perceived mostly as sick and do nothing to spread awareness, improve people's lives.
perceive [pɚˋsiv] v. 意识到;理解
It's not clear what those initials KMD stand for.
Mangione is pleaded not guilty.
plead [plid] v. 恳求[(+with/for)]; 辩护,抗辩[(+for/against)]
All right, that's the Mangione case.
Let's bring in Aaron Katersky and do another case that Aaron has been following, of course, the Sean Combs case because Aaron, the judge today, giving Sean Combs warning in court.
You sure did, David.
Sean Combs has not supposed to react with facial expressions to the testimony.
But the judge said he caught Combs nodding vigorously and looking at the jury.
If it happens again, the judge, who called it absolutely unacceptable, said he would consider excluding Combs from the courtroom for the remainder of the trial.
exclud [ɪkˋsklud] v. 逐出,开除[(+from)]
David. Aaron Katersky following both of these cases report. Aaron, thank you.

So three things to watch out for here.
The Thunder are the best team in the league, but the Pacers have had the second best record in the NBA since January 1st behind the Thunder.
Both teams are led by Star, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Thunder won MVP.
